LINENS & TOWELS
TRIPLE SHEET METHOD: Here’s a video explaining and showing the Triple Sheet Method (please copy/paste into browser to watch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUDLGfrugpQ&t=61s The triple sheet method is a hotel-style bed-making technique that sandwiches a lightweight blanket or duvet between two flat sheets, resting on top of a fitted sheet. This method provides a crisp, luxurious, and highly hygienic, easily washable, and sanitary sleeping environment. It offers a faster alternative to cleaning bulky duvet covers, allowing for quick, efficient turnover, often used in hospitality for a cleaner, modern, and minimalist look. Key Components and Steps: Layer 1 (Base): A fitted sheet or a flat sheet tucked tightly around the mattress. Layer 2 (Middle): A flat sheet placed on top, which acts as a barrier, with the hem aligned at the top of the mattress Layer 3 (Warmth): A blanket or duvet is placed over the second layer, typically 6-12 inches below the top edge. Layer 4 (Top): A final flat sheet is placed on top of the blanket. Finish: Both the top sheet and middle sheet are folded down together over the blanket at the head of the bed (creating a 6-12 inch "cuff"), and all sides are tucked tightly to create a smooth, clean look.
THREE-SET LINEN ROTATION: Each property operates with three full sets of linens and towels in rotation to ensure fresh arrivals and extend item lifespan. Hygge Up North covers two full sets and all in-season replacements for worn or damaged items. Owners cover one set. This linen replenishment occurs once annually in the spring to keep homes fully stocked for the busy season.
